Spy company is first into network

A growing mortgage company has been positioned at the helm of a brand new business-to-business self-help network, after becoming its first launch member. Following a successful launch in March, over 30 businesses joined Sunderland Business Network (SBN), the newest member of Business Clubs North East Ltd (BCNE), with i-Spy mortgages being the first to sign up at the launch.

Tony Spence, Chairman of BCNE, said: “Our launch was an overwhelming success, with over 100 businesses attending and over 30 of them becoming members as a consequence. In a very short space of time, the network already consists of a diverse range of the city’s most exciting businesses, both well-established and those that are just starting out. However, as the first business to sign up, i-Spy will always have a special place in the network!”

Judith Wright, Director of i-Spy Mortgages, said: “It is important to us, as individuals and as a business, to support our local business community and commerce in the North East. It also provides great opportunities for business promotion which will assist us in targeting our marketing activities and developing our client base.”

As well as younger companies and SMEs, many established Sunderland businesses have also rushed to join the burgeoning network.

Alex Scullion, regional entrepreneur and Managing Director of Alex Scullion Electrical Group, said: “SBN has been created to support all businesses in the area, adding to an innovative culture in the city and the wider region by effect. “It will provide unparalleled opportunities for businesses to mix and assist each other in developing their ideas and services, at the same time as learning from others who have developed successful businesses in Sunderland.”
