Wearside man wins marketing honour
A Sunderland marketer has been awarded the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Presidents Award. Richard Sice was given the award in recognition of his long service and dedicated contribution to the North East Branch.
Diane Earles, the Institute’s Regional Director, said: “This national award is The Institute’s highest honour given for branch services, and is the first such award given in the North East for many years.”
Joanna Berry, current chairman of the North East Branch of the Institute, said: “This is a well deserved award. As chairman of the branch from 2002 to 2005 Richard encouraged more members to become involved in Institute activities. He formed affiliations with other related business organisations, and fostered closer relationships with the three universities in the region.”
Richard gave active support to both the Durham Tees Valley branch and members in Cumbria to develop their own activities and form their own Branch.
Prior to being branch chairman, Richard was events manager for the branch and re-energised the programme with many joint events with other business organisations, providing many small businesses with access to speakers and knowledge they might not otherwise enjoy.
Richard now represents the North East Branch on The Institute’s Regional Board, which meets in North Yorkshire.
