Society builds on awards success
Darlington Building Society has been honoured for its employee development, customer service and the contribution the business has made to the region’s economic wellbeing.
The Society was presented with the Culture for Success Award by Service Network at a ceremony last week. Peter Rowley, chief executive of Darlington Building Society, said: “To receive this recognition by independent judges highlights the high esteem in which the Society is held in the North East and not just in our core operating area of County Durham, the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire.”
“I would like to pay tribute to all staff at Darlington Building Society for making the Society such a well respected and well regarded financial services organisation.”
Award judge David Bowles said: “Darlington Building Society has had a fantastic year, despite concerns experienced nationally across the financial sector, with an exceptional customer retention rate and growth of 13%. This is also reflected in their staff, where development, retention and recognition of young talent is seen as a way of continually refreshing the organisation.
“I would also like to commend the Society’s chief executive, Peter Rowley, as an active promoter and ambassador for the region.”
