Staff think they're like footballers
Despite the lack of any UK football action this summer, many office workers often see themselves as part of a football team, according to new research. The country’s workers believe they have the communication qualities of a good goalkeeper or the skill of a classy defender, it is claimed.
A new poll showed one in three thought the qualities of a goalkeeper were the most important to any team, including a group of workers. In comparison, fewer than one in five praised the qualities of a forward. The survey, which questioned 1,200 staff, was carried out by recruitment firm Office Angels.
The company’s David Clubb said: “There is not one single position in a team that is more important than another. An effective and successful team relies on a combination of different skills and competencies working together to display new ideas and achieve results.
“A manager should place importance on finding the ‘dream team’. The manager should then worked on ways to ensure they keep the winning formation.”
