Angel Pants for Dads

Are you scratching your head wondering what to get the old boy for Father’s Day? Have no fear! Gateshead council are here, and they’ve got the perfect gift - 48 limited edition Angel of the North pants.

To celebrate the Angel of the North’s tenth anniversary, the council has created a special batch of men’s designer briefs, which feature a unique ‘My Angel’ logo on the derriere. The Angel’s 10th anniversary forms part of Newcastle and Gateshead’s programme of festivals and events in 2008, managed by culture10 at the NewcastleGateshead Initiative. A range of other Angel of the North merchandise has been specially created for the tenth anniversary and will be available soon.

Linda Green, Gateshead Council’s cabinet member for culture, said: “Dads are notoriously difficult to buy for so we thought we’d help the public out by creating a gift that’s unique, yet ideal for fun-loving dads. The Angel of the North is much-loved so it seemed fitting to celebrate its tenth anniversary with a present for that special someone in your life - your dad.”

Angel pants are the latest in a long list of special events that have been planned to celebrate the anniversary.

So to make sure your dad’s Father’s Day doesn’t turn out to be a bummer, you can get the limited edition ‘My Angel’ briefs from Gateshead Council, Civic Centre. The briefs cost £8.50, but with only 48 pairs available you’ll have to be quick.
