North East technology grants schools access to hidden millions

A Tyneside technology company has launched a new website to help schools in the UK obtain the estimated £200m that is available to educational establishments each year.

Newcastle-based SF Software specialises in creating software solutions for school administration departments and has recently launched the web-based service known as School Fund Finder. The service is designed to provide a searchable database of available grants and funding opportunities specifically tailored for school needs.

Schools in the UK currently raise over £1.5bn per year to supplement their statutory budget, but there are marked regional variations in fundraising success. Knowing where to look for additional funds and learning how to write an effective grant proposal are often a serious drain on time and staff resources in schools.

Ryan Green, School Fund Finder project manager at SF Software, said: “Schools in the UK are missing out on millions of pounds in funding each year which could be used for building projects, school trips, equipment, and extra-curricular projects, simply because they don’t know what grants are available or how to access them.”

Carri Cunliffe, head of sector development at Codework Connect, said: “Today we’re seeing digital technology used more and more to help people access something they would not otherwise have been able to SF Software’s School Fund Finder is an excellent domestic example of how technologies developed in the North East are being used to help others throughout the UK and rest of the world.”

Anyone interested in becoming a subscriber of School Fund Finder should visit the website at www.schoolfundfinder.co.uk.
