Summer Launch Party for Healthcare Awards
Cels, the organisation driving the growth of the North East’s healthcare sector, is holding a summer party at Beamish Hall Hotel, County Durham on Thursday 3 July to celebrate the launch of the Business for Life Awards 2008.
The Business for Life Awards 2008, which recognise the North East’s innovative healthcare companies, will take place on Thursday 4t December at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, and will be hosted again by BBC Look North’s Wendy Gibson.
Last year’s winners of the five categories received automatic entry into the Medilink UK National Awards, an event which recognises the UK’s most innovative healthcare companies and took place in February 2008 at the MedTech exhibition at the Birmingham NEC. This year Cels celebrated the region’s success as three out of the five winners of the national awards hailed from the North East - Peacocks Medical Group, ImmunoDiagnostic Systems (IDS) and Hart Biologicals.
Cels CEO Mike Asher encourages all North East based Healthcare and Life Sciences companies to take part in the Business for Life Awards. Mike said: “The North East is rich with healthcare and life sciences companies that are doing exciting, groundbreaking work across a wide range of fields and they deserve to be recognised.
“With three of last year’s winners going on to win the national awards, the Cels Business for Life Awards is an outstanding opportunity to highlight a company’s achievements and build recognition for attaining the highest standards of business success.”
