Is your secretary the best on Tyneside?

Bosses on Tyneside are being urged to enter their secretaries for an award to recognise the hard work and dedication of the ‘unsung heroes’ of the business world.

The Best Secretary on Tyneside Award aims to honour secretaries and PAs who go that extra mile to make a difference to the organisation they work for.

The Award will be judged by a panel of experts from Pitman Training, Reed PA & Secretarial, and Colour Me Beautiful North East, with the best candidates attending a short interview by the judging panel. To help the judges make their final decision, the boss of each secretary or PA shortlisted will be invited to explain why their secretary deserves the award.

Dave Stevens of Pitman Training Newcastle said: “There are a number of awards for businesses and business owners, but nothing for the people that support them every day, their PAs and secretaries. We feel that it’s about time that these key people got some recognition, hence the Best Secretary on Tyneside Award competition.”

As well as the title of ‘Best Secretary on Tyneside’, the winner will receive a prize of a Sony Vaio Laptop plus Microsoft Office 2007 Professional from PC World Business North Shields, plus an ‘Office 2007…Fast’ course from Pitman Training Newcastle.

Runners-up will receive £500 worth of vouchers from Planet. Other prizes include dinner, bed and breakfast for two at Malmaison Newcastle. In addition, the first 50 nominations will each receive a £20 voucher from Planet.

All secretaries and Personal Assistants working in the NE, DH and SR postcode areas are eligible to apply. To nominate yourself or someone in your company, visit www.bestsecretaryontyneside.co.uk. All entries must be received by 5.00pm on Friday 11 July.
