Business boosting forum for engineering sector

More than a hundred of the region’s most prominent business leaders are to be brought together at a ‘business-boosting forum’ next week.

Tees Valley Engineering Partnership hosting the event on 16 July, at which speakers from world class engineering companies will give those attending information on plans ‘vital’ to the area’s economic well-being.

A presentation will be made by the University of Teesside on its capabilities and what it can offer the business community.

Ian Basford, TVEP Director and Chairman, said: “This is a must attend event if you want to remain ahead of the competition as each of these major companies is either opening or considering opening an office in the Tees Valley which will provide local suppliers with lucrative business opportunities.

“One of TVEP’s main aims is to contribute to a significant increase in the GDP of the engineering sector across the Tees Valley and by holding events such as this we are making sure that our members are furnished with the information and knowledge necessary to secure as many of these opportunities as possible.

“This forum is giving these three companies their first chance to address the local engineering supply chain about their plans and how our members can support them.”

Among the invited guests will be representatives from Tees Valley Regeneration and the North East Chamber of Commerce.

The TVEP preview event and forum will take place at the University of Teesside in Middlesbrough. For more information or to book a place email Clare Smart on Clare.smart@balfourbeattymanagement.com.
