Local workers rewarded with tourist passes
Staff at North East businesses are being given discount admission to tourist attractions across Tyne and Wear this summer.
3000 of the £1 Discover passes have been sold since their launch in March, and they are available at Tyne and Wear Tourism Information Centres. Discover’s administrators, Tourism Tyne and Wear, have enabled local companies to buy passes for their entire workforces to demonstrate their gratitude for the workers’ efforts.
Offers range from art galleries to cinemas, and include: Centre for Life; BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art; Sunderland AFC; and Wet ‘n’ Wild. The deals range in form, such as two-for-one entry to the Blue Reef Aquarium.
Peter Warne, the Tourism Manager for North Tyneside Council, said: “Many people forget what’s right on their doorstep in Tyne & Wear. The Discover card not only reminds you of our many great attractions in the area, but with such great offers it also makes them so much more accessible.”
For more information on the Discover card, go to www.visitnewcastlegateshead.co.uk/discover, or employers call David Johnson on 0191 243 8839 to purchase the cards.
