No Doctor when you need one
More than 2500 eagle-eyed viewers have tried to contact the star of BBC television programme Doctor Who after his mobile number appeared onscreen.
The Doctor was being called back to earth by his team of companions on the penultimate episode of the series, which aired on Saturday 28 June. His phone number was 07700 900461, but callers were left disappointed as they found their efforts to contact the Time Lord were fruitless. One fan even complained to the BBC, saying: “I phoned but there was just an annoying network message.”
Similarly, five years ago, God’s phone number was revealed in the film Bruce Almighty. Hundreds of calls were made to various people who had the number 776 2323, including a church in North Carolina where the pastor was named Bruce.
