Wanted: inspiring entrepreneurs
The Working Knowledge Group is looking for North East experts in Finance, Sales and Marketing, HR and Operations for its ‘Ride the Wave’ programme. The scheme aims to raise the commercial awareness, entrepreneurial spirit and employability skills of 1000s of students in colleges across the UK. In the North East, 480 1st year A-level Students from South Tyneside College will spend three days learning how to build a business at Sunderland University.
These students need support from business experts on Thursday 4 September. The experts will advise the student teams within their field of expertise, helping prepare them for a final presentation to a panel of Dragons’ Den-style judges.
Richard Brine from Corus has been one of the expert advisors in the past. He said: “This is an extremely beneficial experience for the Business Experts not just the students. The enthusiasm, motivation and energy of the students is so infectious you cannot help leave without a bounce in your step. But more than that, the new tips, tools and techniques that you learn from the day just might help you look at your own role in a new light.”
