Last chance for free creative workshops on Teesside
The Institute of Digital Innovation (IDI) at the University of Teesside has launched its final programme of workshops for people working in the North East’s creative sector.
The IDI will hold a total of seven more between the end of July and the end of September.
Some of the region’s leading names in the creative industries will host the workshops which will include writing scripts for film, pitching scripts ideas, PR for the creative industries, successful sales and protecting ideas.
The first workshop, an Introduction to Soundtrack Pro and Colour on Tuesday 29 July, will be a practical workshop aimed at existing users of the industry standard editing software Final Cut Pro, hosted by industry expert Ian Bailey.
The final workshop in the programme will be held on Friday 26th September and will look at Protecting Your Creativity. Delivered by intellectual property and technology law solicitor Matthew Rippon, this workshop will look at the methods creative businesses implement to protect their creativity.
Scott Watson, enterprise co-ordinator for the Institute of Digital Innovation, said: “This is the final programme of workshops we’re running through this ERDF funded project. It’s the last chance for people working in the creative sector to get some free advice to help them build their business.
“We decided to increase the number of workshops, adding some new elements, because we have had such a great amount of interest from businesses all over the North East. We also asked specific businesses exactly what they needed to help them grow and so these workshops are responding to their needs.”
To reserve a place or for more information call Jude Wilkinson on 01642 384330 or email jude@thedigitalcity.org. Go to www.idi-uk.org for a full list of the workshops on offer.
