Stockton business puts Boris on Trax
A former death-defying stunt rider from Stockton is set to help Boris Johnson reduce motorcycle crime.
Gary Elliston will be meeting with the London Mayor later this year to show how his business Right Trax, which has helped reduce motorcycle crime by 60% in Middlesbrough, can have a similar impact in the capital.
Through workshops and road shows, Right Trax teaches young people from the age of 10 to ride and maintain motorcycles safely. The company’s team of 15 staff train youngsters in a range of subjects including basic motorcycle maintenance and the Highway Code.
Gary, who served in the British Army for 30 years, said: “We help young people to ride responsibly and respect themselves and others by becoming familiar with all aspects of their bikes, wearing suitable safety gear and learning the rules of the road. “Right Trax manages to make this an enjoyable learning experience that provides our students with a sense of achievement and can help them gain a key skills GSCE qualification.”
