Hi-tech theme for India market visit
North East firms are being urged to look east in a bid to win new international clients. UK Trade & Investment has adopted a hi-tech theme for its visit to India in February next year.
The visit will take delegates to Mumbai and New Delhi, and coincides with three trade fairs taking place in February. The trade fairs are:
- Componex Nepcon 2009 - of interest to those involved in the ICT industry it focuses on electronic components, materials and equipment;
- Plastindia 2009 - the International Plastics Exhibition and Conference, of particular interest to those in the chemical sector;
- Aero India 2009 - this exhibition showcases the latest aviation technologies, products and services
Geoff Young, one of UK Trade & Investment’s International Trade Advisers who will lead the visit, said: “India is the second largest export market in the developing world after China. UK experts of goods and services are already in excess of £3 billion and the market offers many business opportunities for both new and experienced exporters.
“Key sectors include aerospace, automotive, agribusiness, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, construction, creative and media, education, skills and leisure, engineering, environment, financial and legal services, healthcare and medical, ICT, oil and gas, power, transport and water.
“Our visit offers an ideal opportunity to explore the market and meet those who can help as well as potential clients.”
Companies have until 7 November to sign up for the visit. Eligible companies may also receive a financial contribution towards the costs of the visit from UK Trade & Investment. For more information or to book a place email enquiries@ukti.rito.co.uk.
