The hunt is on for the best new business in the Tees Valley

Entrepreneurs are being encouraged to enter The Best New Business Awards 2008, which aims to recognise successful business start-ups across the Tees Valley area.

The awards are open to companies that have been trading for a maximum of three years and winners will receive £500 plus a trophy, with the overall winner receiving an additional £1000.

Past winners have included manufacturing company Propipe in Hartlepool and dress designer Kate Fearnley in Middlesbrough.

The awards are sponsored by Business Link in association with financial advisors, Colin Brown LighthouseXpress Ltd and Tees Valley Partnership.

Jill Lee from Business Link said: “This event is the only one of its kind that solely recognises successful business start ups in the Tees Valley area.

“We are delighted to be once again showing our support for this event, which has grown over the past decade to become an important date in the Tees Valley business calendar, giving fledgling firms the prestigious opportunity to become award winning businesses.”

Colin Brown said: “The Tees Valley is a hub of entrepreneurial activity and it is important that we recognise these achievements. By rewarding our talent we hope to encourage these firms to reach their full potential and inspire other budding entrepreneurs to aim high.”

For an entry form contact Colin Brown on 01642 862177 or at CBrown6748@lineone.net. All businesses entering the awards should have commenced trading after July 1 2005 and the deadline for entries is October 27.
