Event celebrates Northern Design
The North East’s annual design festival, Design Event, will take place this year from 9-26 October.
The theme for the festival is ‘Northern Design’ exploring people, cultures and landscapes in the North of England. Building on the success of the 2007 festival, Design Event 08 (DE08) will take place across Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham, Washington and Middlesbrough.
The festival will feature graphics and illustration exhibitions, a curated selling exhibition and architectural tours around Sunderland and Newcastle. There will be a total of 26 exhibitions, tours and events over an eighteen-day period across the North East celebrating design in all its forms including graphics, illustration, fashion, product and architecture.
