Man in bed with snake
A man woke up to find a snake in his bed at his Tyneside home. The man called the police to his home in Felling, Gateshead, after waking to find the 2ft (60cm) long cream and brown reptile in his bed on Thursday.
He managed to trap the snake in a bin until officers arrived at the scene. They made the area secure before calling the RSPCA to assist them.
Police took the snake into custody until RSPCA officers could collect it. The reptile was not venomous.
