Fashion with an eco-passion
Budding eco-fashionistas will now be able to read all about ethical fashion, products, news and features after the launch this week of a new fashion and lifestyle magazine with a twist.
The first issue of Daisy Green will debut the cutting edge in ethical fashion and show readers how they can make those small but important steps without compromising on style.
With her team of six like-minded women, Nicola Alexander, founder of Daisy Green, has set out to keep the region’s women up to date on the world of eco-fashion and lifestyles.
Nicola said: “We made the magazine for people like us - ladies who love getting dressed up and looking lovely and want a nice comfortable home, but at the same time, know that it is vital to try and preserve our natural recourses by recycling or reusing.
“We are by no means perfect, we are just normal girls who really want to make a difference. Our philosophy is that all small steps make a difference.”
Nicola originally set up Daisy Green as a blog, but support from Northumbria University’s Enterprise Campus motivated Nicola and the team to launch the magazine.
Nicola said: “It took a lot of research and planning but Enterprise Campus was really helpful in the early stages and we received some really honest advice and help with our business plan. It has been hard work along the way, but we are very proud of the magazine.”
Graham Baty, enterprise support manager at Northumbria University’s Enterprise Campus, said: “Daisy Green is very different to many of the business start-ups that we work with here at Northumbria University’s Enterprise Campus but with environmental issues coming to the forefront of everyday life and the hard work put in by Nicola and her colleagues, I am sure the magazine will be a success.”
