The Great North Baton Challenge
‘The Great North Baton Challenge’ is The Children’s Foundation’s fundraising campaign to raise money for The Great North Children’s Hospital. The fundraising theme draws on the success of Team GB in the Beijing Olympics and the anticipation of the country as a whole for London 2012.
The Baton Challenge is supported by North East Olympic medal winners Matt Wells (Bronze Rowing), Jo Jackson (Bronze Swimming), Tony Jeffries (Bronze Boxing) and Paralympic medal winner Stephen Miller (Silver Club).
The new children’s hospital will be a resource for the whole region, where children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions, from the North East and beyond, can attend for critical treatment and services.
The Children’s Foundation has issued five official fundraising ‘batons’ into the North East representing Education, Sport, Health, Business and Community. If your organisation would like to raise money for The Great North Children’s Hospital and take the fundraising baton for one month, register now! Call the ‘Baton’ hotline on 0191 282 0888 or visit www.thechildrensfoundation.co.uk.
