Design firm PATCH up the difference

A charity that has helped thousands of vulnerable families is relishing its new professional image thanks to a big-hearted design company.

PATCH Hartlepool (Parent and Toddler Care at Home) has been providing practical help for families for almost 16 years from its base in the Avondale Centre, Dyke House School.

But after funding was spent on play and safety equipment, volunteer training, and general running costs there was little left to promote charity’s work.

PATCH office manager Angela Atkinson said: “We have been going a long time now but there are still vulnerable families who do not know about our services and we need to reach them whichever way we can.”

After contacting Teesside Professional Services Group, PATCH was put in touch with Hartlepool-based design and marketing professionals The Consultancy who offered to set up a website and design a brand free of charge.

Angela explained: “Nowadays, people go to the internet for all of their information and we had no presence on there. Now we have a brilliant website, some very professional branding and people will see our logo and know exactly who we are.”

Ian Richardson, Managing Director of The Consultancy based in Queens Meadow, Hartlepool, said: “Being a father myself this was a group that really struck a chord with me. The workers there are so passionate about what they do and the number of families they have given genuine help to is unbelievable.

“When they asked us for help I was more than happy to offer our time and expertise. Now they have a professional image to back up the very good work they do for Hartlepool families.”

Angela said: “I can’t believe The Consultancy has done all of this for us for free, we feel like we have won the lottery. We now look as professional as we are.”
