Kim joins line up to help women ?switch on' to enterprise

TV news presenter Kim Inglis shared how she made it in the world of media with women from across the region at an event held to encourage women to set up their own business.

The Spark Your Potential Event brought successful female business owners and inspirational women together to deliver a series of sessions to demonstrate to others that setting up on their own is a viable career option.

Kim has been a broadcast journalist for 15 years and is a local household name in her work for ITV Tyne Tees as a reporter and evening news show presenter. She provided a vital insight into the challenges she has faced to be a success, whilst also being a working mum.

The Spark Event was held at the National Glass Centre on Wednesday 15 October, and offered women the chance to pick the brains of industry professionals from sectors such as law, PR and finance.

Kim said: “It is vital that we encourage more women to set up their own business and the Spark Event will help those who are considering the concept to gain some invaluable advice from others who have taken the plunge.

“As women we all experience similar challenges and this event is a great way to share our journeys and support each other in getting more female owned businesses off the ground here in the North East.”
