Young business people to get their skates on
Teamwork, having fun and keeping warm is the name of the game for a business event that will be held on ice next week as part of the Junior Chamber Initiative North East’s (JCI) events programme.
The JCI networking ‘Plan your way to success’ event aims to bring young business professionals from across the region together at an ice hockey match. The event will be held during a live Mincoff Vipers versus Edinburgh Capitals match at the Metro Radio Arena on Thursday 30 October.
As well as allowing young business people the chance to watch the match, the JCI hopes to give them the opportunity to meet a range of business professionals who could become lifelong contacts. The event also includes meeting Vipers head coach Rob Wilson who will give a presentation on teamwork and planning, as well having a go at the game itself.
Guests will also get the opportunity to meet selected players for a face-to-face chat in the corporate lounge after the game.
JCI Committee member Gemma Clarke said: “This event is a great opportunity for young professionals that work in and around the North East.
“If you haven’t been to a JCI event before, you will see that attendees come from all walks of North East life. It’s an easy chance to meet new people without the pressure of having to ‘network’ but more importantly it is fun.
“The Mincoff Vipers match is being screened live on Sky Sports and one guest may even get their moment of fame as they get to hand over the ceremonial puck.”
The event is free to JCI members and £30 to non members. To book email Phil Dean pdean@mincoffjacksons.co.uk.
