Space people are tickled pink
The team at Newcastle based architectural business Space Group were sporting the colour pink with pride as they dressed up for Dare to Wear it Pink Day on Friday 31 October.
Space Group joined firms all over the country in raising money for Breast Cancer Campaign by swapping the usual work clothes for pink-themed outfits, with the team at its _spaceworks building in Gosforth pulling out all the stops.
The annual event, organised by Breast Cancer Campaign, uses all Dare to Wear it Pink donations to fund world-class research throughout the UK, to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure.
Rob Charlton, CEO of Space Group, said: “When I found out about the Dare to Wear it Pink Day I jumped at the chance of being involved. We like to think differently so our offices are all branded in hot pink.
“I’m not sure how much we’ve raised but most of the team have got involved, so it should be a great result. Some of the visitors to _spaceworks have had to double-take when they walk in to see everyone wearing pink, but they have all been hugely supportive.”
Dare to Wear it Pink Day, which boasts celebrity supporters such as Linda Robinson and Lauren Laverne, last year raised £3.2 million in just one day and hopes to beat that amount by a further £300,000 today.
