North East success story heads to M62 corridor

A North East recruitment agency is exporting its successful formula southwards by setting up in Leeds and Manchester.

Altitude Recruitment has expanded outside its home area for the first time by opening new offices at the Round Foundry Media Centre in the Holbeck Urban Village in Leeds, and on Portland Street in Manchester.

The two new locations are being managed by recruitment professional Keith Moutter, who has previously worked in senior roles in both cities.

He was part of the team which established and ran Leeds creative recruitment agency The Book, then moved on to establish the Midlands freelance division of Blue Skies and eventually taking over that company’s Manchester creative division.

Established in Newcastle in 2006 by managing director Laura Maddison, Altitude Recruitment supplies recruitment services for advertising, marketing, PR and digital media companies, and has more than 10,000 job seekers and over 500 organisations on its books.

The company has already worked with many agencies along the M62 corridor, and Laura believes that establishing a base in the city will help them take better advantages of commercial opportunities in the area.

She said: “Our experience of working with clients and candidates in and around these two great cities clearly showed what thriving creative centres they remain, and, despite current economic conditions, what a strong talent and agency base they retain.

“We know there are significant commercial opportunities for firms in our sector with the right attitude, approach and market understanding, and believe that the success we have had in our home region can be replicated in both Leeds and Manchester.”
