?Different' building provides room for company growth

A North East creative agency has completed more than half a million pounds’ worth of refurbishment work on a landmark building in Newcastle to allow it to grow further.

Different relocated to the former synagogue on Ravensworth Terrace in Newcastle city centre last November. Since then the company has increased its workforce from 32 to 40 and spent the last year completing a refurbishment of the building.

The new building is three times the size of their former offices on Summerhill Terrace in Newcastle. In addition to the half a million pounds spent on the refurbishment of the former synagogue, which dates back to 1922, Different has invested over £100,000 on IT equipment for their growing digital team.

Mark Martin, creative director, at Different said: “Different has grown significantly in the last 18 months and we needed to find new premises to cope with our planned expansion. The former synagogue, as well as being a stunning landmark building, offers us a lot more space and an ideal location close to Newcastle’s Science City base.

“Our new contracts and on-going projects with leading names, such as One NorthEast and Glasgow Caledonian University, are allowing us to develop further - especially on the digital media side which is something that we have made a significant investment in throughout the last year.”
