FSB make their mark for Enterprise Week
This week sees a business organisation and an enterprise agency join forces as part of Enterprise Week 2008.
The Federation of Small Businesses is working with Make Your Mark to run a two-day workshop which centres on the ‘Keep Trade Local’ campaign.
The first day of the workshop will see professional photographers and local traders work with a group of students to engage with their thoughts around what local trade means to them. The students will take some Keep Trade Local images which will strive to encapsulate the campaign to the younger audience.
The following day will see the students take their efforts to Darlington Market to sell their ideas to the public and promote their own work alongside the Keep Trade Local Campaign of the FSB.
The students work will form part of a calendar which will be distributed to all those in the North East who sign the petition in Darlington on Thursday.
Colin Stratton, FSB Regional Chairman for the North East of England said: “The Make Your Mark campaign carry out a wonderful job and it is our pleasure to assist them by facilitating this part of what I am sure will be a hugely successful week. We are delighted that the project will have a tremendous longevity through the creation of a calendar which I hope will be sent too many homes in time for Christmas throughout the North East.
“The North East is a tremendous supporter of its local traders with markets in the majority of cities, towns and villages and the FSB hope that an event working with the youth of the region will make sure these traders are around for many years to come.”
Pamela Hargreaves, Director of Regions for the Make Your Mark Campaign said: “Enterprise Week is a great time for these fantastic projects to showcase the work they do. Keep Trade Local is fully backed by Make Your Mark as a great way to showcase what a difference small business makes to our communities.”
