?Britain's Got Talent' act set to wow Eagles fans

Following their performance on Britain’s Got Talent, the North East’s very own tae kwon do troupe, the Chi Demo Team, are set to perform for Newcastle Eagles fans when they take to the Arena stage on Friday 21 November.

The Chi Demo Team, based in Spennymoor, County Durham, originally appeared on the show in May, and recently performed to crowds at the Thames Festival in London.

Britain’s Got Talent judge and TV star, Amanda Holden, said: “It’s great to see how these talented young people can perform their specialist sport in such an entertaining way and I’m delighted that the Newcastle Eagles are building variety acts into their games - it really adds to the family atmosphere. I wish the Chi Demo Team all the success for the future and I’m sure Eagles’ fans will be just as amazed by their moves as we were.”

The team consists of fourteen members aged between 12 and 25 years, who have all been training hard in the run up to the game. The Chi Demo Team’s founder and instructor, Russell Shaw explains what the act is all about.

Russell said: “The act is a mix of tae kwon do and gymnastics - adding flamboyancy to the art and making it highly entertaining for audiences. We’ve been going for five years now and, since Britain’s Got Talent, have been training harder for appearances at much larger venues, like the Metro Radio Arena and the Thames Festival. We’re really looking forward to cheering on the Eagles on the 21st and hope the fans enjoy our much-loved martial art.”
