North East firm expands southwards

The North East’s Simpson Group is set to become one of the top five point-of-purchase (POP) specialists in the UK, with the announcement that it has acquired the business and assets of London firm Realisis In-Store Limited.

The deal will see turnover at Simpson Group double to almost £20 million and provide the company, based in Washington, Tyne & Wear, with a location in the south of England from which it can develop its customer base.

Mark Simpson, Chairman of Simpson Group, said: “We are recognised for our specialist skills in POP and for our understanding as to what is important to retail and brand-owning customers. Realisis In-Store is a very natural fit for our business and we are highly confident that it will prove to be a great addition to our business.

“We believe that this deal will move Simpson Group to the next stage of its development and we are very excited about the opportunities it allows. “One of our first actions will be to put in place a long term plan, which will be agreed after consultation with employees and after we have undertaken a review of the business.”

William Flynn, Realisis In-Store Ltd, chairman, said: “Simpson Group has a great reputation within our sector and that really is the key to this deal. It understands where the market is going and the challenges and opportunities that our customers face. That knowledge and understanding, together with strong management skills will take the Realisis In-Store business forward.”
