Fresh work wins top digital award

Newcastle-based creative agency Fat Frog has scooped a prize at the Fresh Digital Awards, which were held at the Deansgate Hilton Hotel in Manchester on 20 November.

The agency was the only North East winner on the evening, picking up the award for Freshest Not for Profit website.

The site was designed and developed by Fat Frog for Seashell Trust formerly known as The Royal School for the Deaf and Communication Disorders and can be viewed at www.seashelltrust.org.uk.

Seashell Trust provides education and residential care for people with complex communication difficulties from across the UK, and asked Fat Frog to develop a website to represent them in a fun and interactive manner.

Nadhim Orfali, programmer at Fat Frog, said: “The team always work hard to ensure that our websites exceed the Disability Discrimination Act guidelines whilst still ensuring excellent design, functionality and search engine optimisation. It is especially rewarding to be recognised in this category for a website that relies on this for so many of its users.”

The Fresh Digital Awards are a national competition open to any individual or organisation based outside of the M25. The Seashell Trust website was up against seven other entries, many of which were for high profile national charities.

Stephen Blanks, Fat Frog’s Managing Director said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to win this award as our design and development teams have put a lot of effort into the Seashell website. It is also extremely gratifying to win this award for a very worthy charity, which will ultimately be the main beneficiary of our work. This is the perfect recognition for the immense pride that we take in all of our websites.”
