North East marketing agency wins airline account
UK regional airline, Eastern Airways, has appointed a Newcastle-based creative agency to look after its latest marketing and advertising campaign.
The independent airline, which has a hub at Newcastle mainly serving the business community, will be using Blue River’s services to increase awareness and help elevate its presence around the regions of the 17 airports that it flies from in the UK and Europe.
Blue River has been briefed to create an advertising campaign that will retain existing customers and raise awareness of the airline with potential business travellers. The campaign starts with a soft launch in December 2008 and will be rolled out across the airline’s network in 2009.
Susan McKeon, Eastern Airways’ marketing manager, said: “Blue River was awarded the account after a five-way pitch. Their retro-modern style of designs really stand out and encapsulate the core values of Eastern Airways in a simple and striking way. The thought process and creative approach demonstrated Blue River’s understanding of the business travel market and I’m looking forward to working with them on future campaigns.”
Simon Douglas, managing director of Blue River, said: “The team at Eastern Airways is very focused and enthusiastic and we’re looking forward to help build the brand and increase sales in what is undoubtedly an interesting and competitive market. Eastern Airways has a unique business model within the airline industry so it is a great opportunity for us to be chosen as the best agency to take their marketing communications forward.”
