New Yahoo CEO revealed in North East?
Internet search giant Yahoo are set to reveal their new CEO next week, but the secret may be out already thanks to a North East entrepreneur.
David Haywood Smith, creator of wishli.st, spotted something he probably wasn’t meant to see on the evening of Thursday 8 January. While using online communication tool Twitter, David saw a message from one Jason Calacanis apparently confirming his appointment as the new head of Yahoo.
Calacanis is an American internet entrepreneur and former blogger. His first company was part of the dot-com era in New York, and his second venture capitalised on the growth of blogs before being sold to AOL. He is currently developing his own search engine, which could explain Yahoo’s interest.
David has told the story on his blog, and has added a screen capture of the unintentional message.
