Ozonology set to clean up in the UK
A new Tyneside business is taking cleaning to another level after its owner discovered the anti-bacterial properties of ozone during a visit to the dentist.
Ash Nehmet of Gosforth was so inspired he carried out two years of research before setting up his ozone sanitisation business, Ozonology, to leave homes, properties and vehicles completely free of bacteria, germs and odours.
Ozonology provides a service which deodorizes, disinfects, and destroys pollutants, fungi, allergens, and odour-causing agents by distributing natural ozone (O3) throughout properties, rapidly oxidising any bacteria it comes into contact with. Once this is done it naturally and safely metabolises back into oxygen with no adverse effects to the environment.
The concept is already popular overseas, however Ash is keen to bring ozone technology to the UK.
Ash said: “Ozonology eradicates a range of problems which can’t be tackled by general cleaning alone and I am keen to make people aware of its many uses. In the US ozone sanitation is common - it took off as a popular service offered by estate agents; buyers could have their house effectively sterilised before moving in, and in parts of China it is common for houses to be cleaned with ozone after death. Other uses I’m keen to promote include after floods or fire damage, in gyms and changing rooms and in nurseries.”
Ash plans to initially promote the service in the region before eventually rolling it out across the UK by offering it as a franchise package.
