Tickets on sale for Diamond Ball
Tickets for the annual ChildLine fundraising ball are now on sale - which this year has a dazzling diamond theme.
The ChildLine Ball is to take place on Friday 20 March at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton and will help support ChildLine’s free 24-hour confidential helpline for children who are in need.
With some businesses cutting back on charitable giving due to the economic climate, this year organisers have decided to reduce the ticket price to encourage businesses to take part despite the credit crunch.
The tickets for the ChildLine Diamond Ball are still expected to sell out fast. Last year’s Ruby themed event attracted over 400 guests and raised a net total of £85,000.
Dennis Clark, Events manager for the NSPCC in the North, said: “The ChildLine Diamond Ball looks set to be a real sparkler of an event. We hope to raise a substantial amount of money to help support children from this area. Every day around 2,500 children and young people call ChildLine but due to lack of funding, only two thirds of these calls can be answered. By raising more funds in the North East, we aim to answer even more calls and help more children.”
“Despite the fact that people are tightening their purses this year, I am still urging individuals, couples, groups of friends or colleges and larger businesses to come along to this wonderful event and help us raise even more money to support children in the region.”
The event is taking place at 7pm on Friday 20 March at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton. Tickets are on sale at £55 per person and tables seat either 10 or 12 people. Contact Dennis Clark at dclark@nspcc.org.uk for more information.
