Masks on for Marie Curie ball

On Saturday 14 March the Marie Curie Newcastle Hospice is hosting its annual Daffodil Ball at the Newcastle Hilton Hotel.

This year’s ball hopes to transport guests to a classic Italian setting with its Venetian Masquerade theme, allowing everyone who attends to dress as extravagantly as possible.

A variety of live entertainment will be on show on the night, as well as a drinks reception, three-course meal, disco and auction - including items such VIP tickets to the FA Cup Final at Wembley, two return flights to New Yorkand& the use of an apartment in Cannes.

All proceeds are used to help the Newcastle hospice to care for some 450 in-patients during 2009 and many more who use its facilities on an out-patient basis. All of the care provided is free of charge to patients, but without voluntary contributions the hospice would not be able to provide these vital services.

Marie Curie Cancer Care is one of the UK’s largest charities. Employing more than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professional, it expects to provide care to around 27,000 terminally ill patients in the community and in its 10 hospices this year and is the largest provider of hospice beds outside the NHS.

Tickets can be purchased for this black tie event on an individual basis or by tables of 12. For more information about the event contact the Fundraising Department on 0191 2191241 or email jane.dennison@mariecurie.org.uk.
