Top creative director flies in for North East event
The creative force behind some of the world’s top airline brands is flying into the region for a special workshop for design professionals and businesses. Peter Knapp of Landor Associates will be sharing his experience with a group of North East businesses at an upcoming event organised by a:design association.
Peter is widely known for his expertise in airline branding, from flag carriers to low-cost brands including bmi, bmibaby, KLM and Gulf Air. He also has experience in other industries, including automotive, petroleum, spirits, financial services, telecommunications, retail, and leisure for household brands such as BP, De Beers, Diageo, Ernst & Young, Land Rover, Maybourne Hotel Group, Morrisons, Preem, and S7.
Peter said: “Creativity and innovation have always been one of Britain’s best natural recourses. This is more important now than ever before. If last century was defined by our manufacturing prowess this century must utilise our strength for creativity and ability to deploy the new currency of ‘ideas’ as we face new commercial and social challenges.”
Darren Richardson, board director of a:design association said: “We’re fortunate to have someone like Peter who is so highly regarded in his field coming to the North East to share his experience. He will offer an invaluable international perspective on what is now much more a global design market.”
The workshop will take place on Thursday 12 February at Northumbria University’s School of Design. For more information email morag@adesignassociation.org.uk.
