Former Rock bosses offer HR advice
After overseeing the departure of hundreds of their fellow colleagues, two Northern Rock managers are heading for the door themselves. Maureen Lindberg and Monique Ewart had the task of making 2000 people redundant at the Gosforth-based bank and now they’re leaving to set up a new business.
They’ll use their HR experience to provide help and advice to companies of all sizes.
Maureen said: “Obviously being at Northern Rock for so long we picked up some fairly unique experience that we can benefit other businesses. We helped take it from a small, local building society all the way up to a major national plc with 6,500 staff.
Maureen and Monique are now the bosses of Professional People Management (PPM). They will offer tailored HR services to help small businesses, and for larger firms they plan to provide restructuring and redundancy advice, job evaluation and performance management.
The pair have worked together for 16 years, and they say they saw the opportunity to start their own business when they realised their skills were in great demand from under-pressure business owners.
Monique said: “So far it has been a fantastic journey and we are very excited about taking PPM forward as a quality HR brand in the region.”
