Youth summit reveals line up
Young people across the region will be on cloud nine when they hear the line up of inspirational entrepreneurs at a youth summit later this month.
The Entrepreneurs’ Forum has managed to secure young hotshots from all over the UK who will fly in to share their stories with this region’s budding entrepreneurs.
Tre Azam, a controversial star of BBC1’s The Apprentice, will be joined at the Cloud9 youth summit by top teenage author and blogger jellyellie, Dragons’ Den success story Imran Hakim, creator of the iTeddy, and Scotland’s entrepreneur of the year Mick Jackson.
Antony Hutton, who went from winning reality TV show Big Brother to now working on the launch of his own chain of hairdressers in the North East, will also be there as well as Ajaz Ahmed, founder of Freeserve, the UK’s largest ISP.
The summit, which will be held on February 25 at Rainton Meadows, Houghton-le-Spring, is aimed at enterprising people aged 15-26 in North East England. More than 1,000 are expected to attend from local schools, colleges and universities.
Many local entrepreneurs will also be on hand to offer tips on becoming a business success.
Carole Beverley, Entrepreneurs’ Forum chief executive, said: “It is the speaker line up that is bound to make Cloud9 the most immense day of inspiration for the North East’s young people.
“There will be a speaker to light that spark of entrepreneurship in everyone I am sure, from social entrepreneurs like Mick Jackson whose business idea has environmental impact, to Antony Hutton, a local lad with a flair for his own business idea.”
As well as the speaker programme in the auditorium, there will be topic stations, a voxpop camera, an enterprise trading area and an area to showcase young entrepreneurs business products.
