Thousands set to attend Business Fair
Over 2000 people from across the region have signed up to attend the North East Regional Business Fair this week.
Organised by Business Link, the fair will take place at Newcastle Racecourse & Conference Centre on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
Already, over 2,000 people from across the North East have signed up to attend, either as exhibitors, businesses in the Meet the Buyers section, or in their capacity as representatives of firms hoping to develop new business leads.
The fair will be officially opened by Alastair MacColl, chief executive of Business & Enterprise North East, the organisation that runs the Business Link service in the region. He will be joined by Alan Clarke, chief executive of One North East, and they will talk about the context and significance of the event, before formally declaring it open for business.
Alastair MacColl said: “The timing of the North East Regional Business Fair is critical. In the current economic climate, it is important that the region’s firms explore as many potential business opportunities as they can. This event has lined up a very impressive combination of major buyers, practical and useful seminars, and valuable information and advice. If they haven’t already booked their place, I urge businesses to come along to Newcastle Racecourse & Conference Centre and make the most of this very timely event.”
Meet the Buyers is the main section of the fair and offers companies from across the region the opportunity to meet and sell to influential buyers from 100 UK companies. Sectors represented include automotive, chemicals and processing, commercial creative, defence and marine, energy, food and drink, healthcare, and knowledge intensive business services.
Seminars at the event will offer free training and information on business opportunities, including London 2012, public sector procurement, environmental sustainability, access to finance, and digital marketing.
