Inspirational event for students
Four of the region’s most successful entrepreneurs are forming an expert panel at an event championing modern entrepreneurial flair and the role of universities today.
Held in association with the Newcastle University’s Careers Service, the panel will include Visiting Professor of Business Innovation at Newcastle University Business School and MD of IHC Engineering Business, Dr Tony Trapp; and young entrepreneur of the year at the Journal North East Business Executive of the Year Awards and MD of North East Bakery, Greg Phillips, among others.
Dr Trapp said: “We must attract more entrepreneurial businesses in the engineering sector to our region and reignite our proud heritage in innovative marine related engineering.
“As a region we need to retain our best graduates and offer them the opportunity to work in exciting and challenging jobs. This can widen the opportunities for many in the North East workforce helping to provide more jobs with real dignity - universities and education in general has a crucial role to play in this.”
The event will be moderated by MD of The Bridge Club, Caroline Theobald and will commence from 5.30pm at the Lindisfarne Room, King’s Road Centre, Newcastle University Campus.
