UK-wide wins fuel Admiral growth

Newcastle-based PR agency Admiral is preparing for expansion following a series of new business wins attracting clients from across the UK.

Admiral has won more than £400,000 worth of business in the past three months, including Benenden Healthcare Society, a not-for-profit-organisation that serves public sector employees. Benenden Healthcare invited 27 agencies to pitch over two days in London and a third in York, where the organisation is based.

Additional wins include a Scottish ancestral tourism project for Scottish Borders Council, Devon County Council’s Rural Road Safety project and PR to support the opening of the largest children’s hospital in Europe, based in Manchester.

Meanwhile, Admiral continues to draw business from within the North East, with new clients including Tees Valley Regeneration, Renew, Stockton PCT, Newcastle City Council, interim tourism PR for One North East and international reputation work for Newcastle University.

Georgie Cameron, managing director at Admiral PR, said: “All of our recent briefs require national support, no matter where our clients are based in the country.

“Our growth outside the region is ahead of schedule. While the climate is clearly challenging for all PR agencies at the moment, the recession seems to have provided opportunities for smaller, nationally-focused but regionally-based agencies like Admiral, that don’t have large overheads.

“We are looking to establish further regional offices across the UK as we continue to gain more clients within these specialist areas. New offices will be opened when we have a critical mass of revenue coming from core geographical areas - most likely to be the North West and Scotland first.”
