Mobile Office product boosts BNS
North East firm BNS Telecom has launched a new “Mobile Office” system which aims to streamline business communications and cuts costs.
Based in Prudhoe, BNS employs 250 people and is one of the UK’s leading IP (Internet Protocol) telecoms providers. The new system uses IP technology to create a Mobile Office solution that follows the users where ever they go.
The system uses partner Vodafone’s GSM network to offer voice calls, faxes and emails. Calls can be routed to the various devices used by the customer whether that be a desk phone, mobile phone, pda or computer notebook.
BNS managing director, Garry Moat said: “Being able to mobilise your workforce to work in the location most relevant for your business is a real competitive advantage.
“Just look at the recent bad weather which brought much of the country to a standstill. It has been argued that modern communications systems allowed many businesses to keep working from the spare rooms of their workforce – therefore significantly reducing the economic impact of disruptions like bad weather.”
BNS Telecom recently reported significant growth in annual turnover, following a shift by the business to offer more IP telecommunications services.
Garry said: “In an economic downturn, businesses are always anxious to save money. The simple fact is that IP based telecommunications systems are invariably much more economical and offer great cost benefits to customers as opposed to conventional systems.
“We have noticed a significant upsurge in interest for this technology within the last 12-18 months and look forward to satisfying this demand through existing products and innovative new offerings.”
