North East showcased to British ambassadors
British Ambassadors from around the globe have been touring the North East to discover what the region’s businesses have to offer to overseas markets.
Ambassadors from countries such as Norway, Hungary, Egypt and Japan were in the region to meet business leaders and visit local companies to find out about the products and services the North East offers.
During the visit the Ambassador for Norway David Powell and Ambassador for Hungary Greg Dorey were given a view into the North East’s renewable energy industry as they toured the research and development facility at NaREC HQ, in Blyth.
David Coppock, UK Trade & Investment’s International Trade Director, said: “We work very closely with the British Ambassadors and staff in overseas posts around the world to help promote and develop opportunities for North East firms.
“We’re delighted to welcome the Ambassadors to the region to help increase their understanding of the region and what it has to offer overseas partners and potential customers.”
Andy Willamson, Business Development Director at NaREC, said: “NaREC has a strong global client base of organisations which are intent on accelerating the development of new energy technologies. Each country has its own distinct energy market profile and visits such as this one help us to spread the work of NaREC to identify new opportunities for collaboration.”
