North East change specialist offers support for ?U'
Despite the doom and gloom of the recession, local learning and personal development specialist Sonja Rooke has successfully launched her new business ‘U’, offering behavioural change programmes for organisations, as well as therapy and coaching services for individuals.
Sonja began her career at the North East Chamber of Commerce, where her involvement with Employment Training Programmes led to work in other large corporations, including Eversheds Law Firm and Northumbrian Water.
Sonja also aims to dispel the stigma that surrounds seeking help for emotional support.
She said: “Life is often too focused on attaining higher income and status, and that’s not all it’s about.
“I’ve seen many people who have done very well in life but can’t find contentment. Often, the cause is a clash of personal and corporate values or an escape from problems elsewhere. By working independently, I can be more accessible to assist others, whilst being true to my own values, thus encouraging balance, change and personal growth.”
