Restructure to aid regeneration

Tees Valley Regeneration is to change the structure of its board as part of its ongoing transition period.

TVR, which is set to wind up in March next year, intend for the new board to ensure the continued commitment to the regeneration and development of Tees Valley.

Current chairman Graham Roberts will remain in post and the board will retain the chief executives from the five Tees Valley local authorities and representatives from One North East and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Reporting to the chairman, TVR directors - Neil Kenley, strategic investment and marketing director, Richard Buckley, director of development and Nigel Orr, director of corporate services will continue to manage the business and lead their respective teams.

TVR’s main projects - Middlehaven, Middlesbrough; North Shore, Stockton; Central Park, Darlington; Victoria Harbour, Hartlepool and the Skylink project at Durham Tees Valley Airport remain under the management of the current team and are unaffected by the changes.

The Business Investment arm of the organisation will also continue, working to attract and secure investment and jobs across the five boroughs.

Graham Roberts said: “The job of preparing for a seamless evolution is vital in these challenging - and changing - times. We’d like to thank all of our private sector board members past and present for their valuable contribution and the time they dedicated to TVR.”

Pat Ritchie, Regional Director for the North East at the Homes and Communities Agency, said: “We look forward to working with the new board to maintain the close relationship we have built up with TVR and to ensure continued progress on key regeneration projects in Tees Valley”.
