North East architects merges with London practice

Dewjo’c Architects, an architectural practice based in Newcastle, Teesside and London, has merged with another practice, Devereux Architects.

Devereux Architects is currently one of the UK’s top 50 practices. The newly merged practice, known as Devereux Architects, will have over 150 staff, making it one of the largest architecture firms in the North East.

Dewjo’c was founded in 1900 and has won many awards including the Hadrian Award for Architectural Excellence for the Devonshire Building at Newcastle University, and the eminent RIBA prize in the Further Education Design Awards for Usworth Sixth Form College in Washington.

Peter Walker, MD of Dewjo’c Architects, said: “This move represents an exciting opportunity for all the Dewjo’c team. The merger of Devereux Architects and Dewjo’c means that we have become one of the largest architectural practices in the North East of England. Devereux Architects is already one of the top 50 practices in the UK and is now expected to join the top 20 following the merger today.
