PR kit launched to help pros
The value of PR in the recession is being brought into the spotlight with the launch of a new online resource centre for PR professionals.
The Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ (CIPR) new toolkit is designed to help its members work more effectively with clients during straitened economic circumstances.
Materials include award-winning case studies that show how PR contributes to organisational success, and skills guides and top tips on critical issues such as crisis management and how to measure digital PR.
In addition there are testimonials from industry leaders about why they choose to use PR; and articles covering crisis management and the value of PR.
Kevin Taylor, CIPR President, said: “I said at the start of my presidency that my priority for this year would be to make membership meaningful. By that I mean I want to ensure the CIPR continues to provide the support members want and need.
“Speaking as a member, what I want the Institute to do for me right now is to champion my profession, my livelihood. And I want it to help me to show my clients and employers why it is vital that they continue investing in their communications if they want to ride the tide and come through this downturn in good shape. I also want advice about what I can do to equip myself so that I am best positioned to face emerging challenges.
“The ‘PR Means Business’ kit answers these needs and will help us individually and collectively to present the best business case for PR yet.”
The kit is available online at www.prmeansbusiness.biz.
