Sir Alan Sugar to host apprenticeship seminar
North East employers are being invited to attend an apprenticeship seminar hosted by Sir Alan Sugar in Gateshead next week.
The seminar, co-hosted by Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families and John Denham, Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills, will take place at The Lancastrian Suite on Tuesday 9 June.
The seminar aims to provide advice for businesses already running apprenticeship programmes and those considering starting up their own. The speakers will cover current changes in education and training, and the advantages of programmes such as modern apprenticeships.
There will also be question and answer sessions with the Ministers and Sir Alan Sugar.
Sir Alan Sugar said: “Success is all about finding people who will help make any business grow, especially in times like these. It’s important that employers take Apprenticeships seriously - apprentices make things happen and can help a business to grow and thrive.”
The event, which is being held at The Lancastrian Suite, Lancaster Road, Dunston, begins at 10.00 am (with registration from 9.00 am). The event is free but places are limited. To book go to www.delegate.com/dcsf/apprenticeships/2009/display.
