Northern film agencies team up
Regional Screen Agencies from across the North of England have come together to launch an online database showcasing crew, facilities, creative and digital talent from all the northern regions.
Northern Film & Media, Screen Yorkshire, and Northwest Vision and Media are the three agencies working to launch the database, which is aimed at maximising job opportunities for crew and providing a one-stop shop for film and TV companies shooting in the North.
The Northern Exposure database (www.northern-exposure.info) holds details of over 3,000 freelance crew, facilities and production companies based across the North of England.
Tom Harvey, Chief Executive of Northern Film & Media, said: “The Northern Exposure website provides a fantastic tool with which we can link the talent of the North to production companies from the national and international market. Northern Film & Media is delighted to be working in partnership with our fellow northern screen agencies on the Northern Exposure website. It is a great example of what we can achieve in the North when we pool our collective resource and talent.
“It has been well publicised in recent months that the North East of England has suffered from a lack of network TV and film production. Northern Exposure forms part of Northern Film & Media’s strategy to promote the talent we have in the region to the global industry and entice production back to the North East.”
Screen Yorkshire Chief Executive Sally Joynson said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the three northern regions to work in partnership to showcase the amazing wealth of talent that’s located here. Our hope is that Northern Exposure will strengthen the entire North’s position as home to some of the most talented individuals and accessible production facilities in the UK.”
