Businesses needed for sandcastle building
A North East charity is seeking help from local professionals in the run up to its annual sandcastle-building competition.
Children North East is looking for volunteers from the worlds of architecture, design, engineering or construction for the Sandcastle Challenge, which will be held at South Shields on Friday 3 July.
Each year the charity organises this competition for local primary schools, seeing them matched with professionals to build sandcastles on the beach with each school competing to win one of the five prizes of £200.
This year there has been a rise in the number of schools taking part, resulting in an imbalance in the number of professionals helping out.
Children North East support some of the most disadvantaged and hard to reach children, young people and families in the region. They would like to hear from any company able to spare a couple of people for half a day on 3 July to help with the competition.
Anyone who is willing to help should contact catrina.flynn@children-ne.org or call 0191 256 2444.
